About this place Ocean's Edge Lodge Restaurant & Bar Corp

Ocean's Edge Lodge is a small mainstream lodge with a restaurant and bar on Victoria Street in Castle Comfort, just south of Roseau along the coast. It is listed as gay-friendly, not a gay venue. It has a 4.1 Google rating from 88 reviews, and the oceanfront setting is its main draw. Dominica's High Court struck down the country's laws against same-sex relations in 2024, but attitudes remain conservative and there is no gay scene. Keep public affection discreet. Central Roseau is a short taxi or bus ride away.

Unpleasant person at the restaurant. Even a simple hello seemed difficult.

We were struggling to find somewhere to eat in Roseau, and were recommended here. Food was great and were the views and service.

The room was clean & the bed comfortable. The bar/ restaurant was right there on the water. Great service. Good food & drinks (breakfast not included). Be aware a balcony room may not mean an ocean view, in fact mine was a ground floor patio looking at cars in the lot. Small lot for parking off street. Couple miles to Roseau center. There is a dive center on site. Overall a good stay.

We went to the restaurant three times, not because it's so good, but because it's the only place reasonably accessible from a mooring buoy. Anyway. The food is okay, when it's available. Let's just say the list of unavailable dishes seemed very long. The lobster looked delicious but was unfortunately overcooked. The steak was well-cooked but sinewy – these things happen. The cocktails were really good – especially the rum punch. The only real criticism is the service... Sorry, but the staff's lack of enthusiasm is blatant. Why does it always have to be like this? You can forgive anything if the staff is friendly, right? In conclusion, if things had been different, we would have only visited once.
