Panama City Pride
About This Event
Panama City's Marcha del Orgullo is the main LGBTQ+ street event in the country, and it still has a hard edge: same-sex marriage and adoption are not recognized in Panama, and the organizers say so from the stage every year. The country's first march, in 2004, drew about 60 people; the current event is run by Panamá Pride, which marked its tenth anniversary in 2026.
The route runs through the Casco Antiguo, the restored colonial quarter on the peninsula. In 2026 the march left Parque Sur on Calle 13 at 2pm and ended at Plaza V Centenario, where a free Pride Village festival started at 4pm. Both the march and the festival were free.
Practical: late June is rainy season, so plan for an afternoon downpour. The Casco is walkable and full of rooftop bars for the evening, and road closures around the old town are normal on march day.
The 2026 edition ran on Saturday 27 June under the slogan 'Todos Somos Panamá'. It clashed with Panama's World Cup match against England, and many marchers wore the national team's red. Press estimates ranged from hundreds (La Prensa) to thousands (El Siglo). The biggest recorded turnout is more than 15,000, in 2023. The 2027 date hadn't been announced when we checked.
