Equality Loudoun

Equality Loudoun is the LGBTQ+ advocacy and community organization for Loudoun County, the area that includes Ashburn. Founded in 2003, the group works on education, advocacy and community-building across the county. In July 2026 it opened Loudoun's first dedicated LGBTQ+ community center at the Village at Leesburg, a short drive from Ashburn, hosting youth programming, game nights and support groups. Equality Loudoun also organizes the annual Loudoun Pride Festival, held each June at Ida Lee Park in nearby Leesburg and billed as the largest Pride celebration in Northern Virginia. For LGBTQ visitors and residents around Ashburn — a suburb with no gay bars of its own — Equality Loudoun is the main local hub for community, events and support, and a good first point of contact for what is happening in the county.
