About this place Gaslight

Gaslight is a gay-friendly French restaurant in Boston's South End, doing a passable impression of a Parisian brasserie.

The cooking here leans French, with influences from Provence, and they’ve worked hard on the atmosphere. It's meant to feel like a classic Parisian cafe, and they do pull it off, making it a good spot for a date or a quiet dinner.

The South End is one of Boston's most openly queer neighborhoods, full of restaurants and bars. Gaslight slides right in, though it's a bit more buttoned-up than some of the other places around. They do a late-night menu too, so it works if you're just starting your evening or need a bite after hitting other spots in the South End.

If you want a slightly fancy, intimate meal with a French accent in Boston, this is it. Check gaslight560.com for menus, hours, and reservations.

Went for brunch. Delicious. Great staff. Adding a delicious ham omelette and an union soup from a visit in fall 2020 Not sure if they are still open though

I like to visit Gaslight from time to time. It's always a pleasant time. The food is satisfying, but not quite blow your mind. Pricing is quite fair on the food and I don't feel like I'm being robbed. The interior is nice and their staff seem to be experienced. The only issue I've had was an incident where I called ahead about dinner, made a reservation, and then was told that they were not on the dinner menu yet when we arrived.

Hi guys, I got an email hearing that your closing. I was very sad to hear this. Gaslight was always my number 1 restaurant in Boston. I started eating here when I was in middle school. Now having graduated college and living in New York when ever I would go home to Boston I would always eat with you guys. I’m sad I won’t be able to eat at gaslight again before you close. But thank you for the great food and experience :D!
