Newbury Comics, on Boston's Newbury Street, is an independent record store that’s been a fixture in the LGBTQ+ community and broader Boston culture for years. It’s a good stop for music lovers, fashion enthusiasts, and anyone looking for something beyond the usual chain store.
You’ll find more than just vinyl and CDs here. They stock posters, graphic t-shirts, books, and skater fashions, so it’s easy to get sidetracked browsing for an hour or two. This is the original store, but there are others throughout the Northeast if you’re traveling in the region.
If you're looking for a specific album, a unique t-shirt, or just want to see a genuine Boston institution, this place delivers. You can also browse their selection online before you go, or keep shopping once you've left the city.

For a store with comics in the name they have more temu junk and funko pops than actual comics. Also $3 for a paper bag.
I find a lot more niche albums here than I do at any other location… maybe the one at at Faneuil hall…
Blatant Resealing collectors booster packs of MTG
I bought two vinyl LPs from them today and one of the employees helped me find a particular LP and confirmed the price for me (it turned out to be on sale). Very nice!
Haven't been here in decades. Almost no music, comics, or t-shirts. Very disappointed! Some collectibles that aren't for everybody.
