Oh my the gigantic creme puff was to die for
We like to eat outside. Fun drinks. Good menu. Friendly staff.
Tucked away a couple miles out of the nearby small town in Ohio is a diamond in the rough: The Bear's Den. The food was surprisingly phenomenal and worth the wait. Food: 4.5/5 The grilled chicken with cheese was cooked perfectly and was very flavorful, and the lamb burgers were out of this world. I can't wait to come back for that lamb. Sides were prepared perfectly and with the best ingredients despite them seeming unassuming on the menu. My only qualm is they were drenched in a tad too much butter for me but were still delicious. Their homemade desserts are also worth a try. Their warm apple pie and vanilla ice cream hit the spot, although the ice cream scoop could have been a tad larger. Service: 3.5/5 The waitstaff was friendly, although they seemed understaffed. I needed my water refilled on more than one occasion, and we weren't checked on too often. Wait: 3/5 This was the least comfortable part of the meal, with around a 45 minute wait. That said, the quality of the food was so surprisingly good that it was well worth the time it took the chefs to expertly prepare the food for us and an unsurprisingly full dining room. Atmosphere: 4/5 I enjoy the theme they have going on inside with a taxidermied bear and other wild animals, framed art, and a newly renovated interior with a dessert display case up front. They even have a live band in their outdoor seating area. Total score: 3.8/5 Overall, The Bear's Den is worth not only a visit, but also a revisit, and another revisit. Be prepared for getting settled in during peak hours, but the food is the star of the show.
The steak was very flavorful and well prepared, with excellent overall quality. The ribeye was served with a loaded baked potato and a house salad with blue cheese dressing, all of which were well-executed. Portions were generous and satisfying. Service was also outstanding, contributing to a smooth and enjoyable dining experience. Overall, it was a high-quality meal with strong attention to both food and hospitality.
Excellent food and service! Large portions! So fresh!!
Waited almost an hour for our lunch. While waiting staff was in kitchen playing with their hair and braiding their hair. Another one was eating back in the kitchen. Was almost done eating Server finally asked if we wanted a drink refill. Food had no flavor and the fries taste like fish. Would not recommend this place and definitely will not go back Was first time going and will be the last.
Excellent food and service
