About This Event
Charleston Pride is South Carolina's Lowcountry pride, and the 2026 edition takes place this Saturday, 17 October 2026. It started in 2009 as a three-day event, and the first annual parade was held in North Charleston on 15 May 2010. Charleston Pride Festival, Inc. was set up in 2011. The event grew into a full Pride Week and moved downtown in 2013.
The day comes in two parts. The 17th annual parade leaves Wragg Square at 9:00, turns at Ann and King, and runs down King Street through the historic downtown until about 11:00. It is free and goes ahead rain or shine. This year's grand marshal is the College of Charleston's SC LGBTQ+ Collection. The festival follows at Building 64, 2301 Noisette Blvd in North Charleston, with gates opening at 11:00, the show starting at noon, and a 18:00 finish. Entry is free, and a limited number of VIP tickets are on sale. The lineup includes the Royal Court 2026 and headliner Kenya Pleaser.
The parade and festival are in different cities, so plan the drive between them. Street parking at Building 64 is limited, and the lot next to it costs $10 for the day. The official host hotel, the Starlight Motor Inn, has a discounted rate for 16-17 October with code PRIDE.
The 2027 dates hadn't been announced when we checked.
