About this place D.S. Tequila Company

D.S. Tequila Company is a gay bar in Chicago's Boystown, on North Halsted Street, that believes tequila makes people happy.

The place mostly does tequila drinks, as you'd guess, in a room that feels totally fine for anyone who walks in, LGBTQ+ or not. Boystown has a lot of gay bars, from corner dives to places where you actually dance. D.S. Tequila came along a bit later than some of the others, but it's found its spot with a focus on agave.

They also serve food. This isn't just a drink spot; you can actually eat a meal here. That's a nice touch, meaning you don't have to bounce to another place after a few margaritas. It lets you just settle in.

If you're after a gay bar in Chicago where you can get a decent tequila drink and some food, this one's a solid choice in a neighborhood built around LGBTQ+ nightlife. Check their website for what's on the menu and when they're open.

Came in and left within 5 minutes. We arrived at the beginning of their day at which time there may have been 3 occupied tables. As there was no host at the stand, we stepped into the restaurant a few feet beyond and we’re approached by a waiter/host who rudely told us to step back in front of the stand. He then asked us if we wanted to be seated inside or out. We asked if any part of the outside was shaded (it was a hot day). His reply: “I don’t know. Go out and check it for yourselves”. We did, and found a nice table for 5 in the shade, at which time he came out said “That table is off limits”! We found a 4 top upon which he threw 3 menus on the table and walked away. We were afraid to ask him if we could move a single table over to make it more comfortable for us! Instead we left and told him “another time” and he just shrugged us off. We are in our 60s; maybe he didn’t want us in there? Never have we received more rude and unwelcoming service. Last chance for this one and never again!

During these times it’s always best to do reservation because of limited seating. This place has done a decent job of trying to make everyone feel safe about dining in. Plexi glass and screen protectors are set up in the patio area. To help people with anxiety about what’s going on, including me. Paperless menus. The food and drinks were amazing, the lemon pepper shrimp taco was to die for. LGBT friendly. The service was great, as the workers were very knowledgeable of the menu and attentive. Did I mention the lemon pepper shrimp taco? Located between the Belmont and Addison in CTA train stop. So if you are visiting the city, that could be a great way to explore the City of Chicago. 🤎KD

Arrived after 9hr flight from London, hit Boystown and were hungry. Decided to go to D.S Tequila as opposite bar we were in. Friendly welcome and saw their special 35c wings on a Tuesday. I had 10 wings which were spicy and good partner had blackened chicken quesadillas which were good. Service very friendly and attentive.

I had brunch this past Saturday here and it was honestly one of the best brunches I’ve had. All my friends ordered something different so I got to try a bit of everything. Not a single thing that I tasted was bad. The food was to die for. I ordered the brunch burger which is a hangover’s kryptonite. I didn’t need it but it tasted divine regardless. Now if you know me outside of my wonderful trip advisor reviews, you know that of course I’m gonna get some bottomless mimosas. I mean c’mon now. So me and my friends all had some mimosas and it was safe to say by the time we left we were levitating since we’d been there for nearly 3 hours. The mimosa man comes around in a onesie and had a mimosa cannon which he uses to refill your drink. The cups are a solid 20oz so you get a lot each time and the mixture isn’t cheap on the champagne so not to worry about that. It can be a little pricey since the mimosa deal is separate from your brunch but in summary, the atmosphere is amazing. They played really good music, the food is exquisite and the drinks are strong. I’d recommend to anyone.

Cool bar and restaurant that had wing day when we arrived. Delicous wings and sauces with a good deal. Start with a drink, and do try something with tequila. There is also a cool terrace where you also can eat or have a drink or beer. I can imagine that the they have crazy partys later in the night.

Came with a few friends a couple times while we were in town for the weekend. The first trip on a Friday we got a bunch of the bowl drinks - a bit on the sweet side but they were on special that day so we slugged them down. Got guac and salsas to share which were tasty and they replenished the chips as needed,. Two of us got burgers (Bourbon St) which were really tasty and juicy. One friend got chicken fingers which were a bit well done and the other got a taco sampler which he ate everything. The service was really good - super friendly and gave good recommendations on what to see and do in Chicago. On the second trip went on a Sunday and it was still good, but not as good as the first visit. Went to watch the Pats game (really hard trying to find a place in Boystown that has food and games on New Years Eve) and they were initially a little hesitant but did manage to put it on which was nice (and no one was watching the games on the other tvs anyway). Got the queso with meat which was a very small portion for the price and it came out cold the first time - when we got a replacement it was much better but since it was served in such a small bowl it got cold and sludge like very quickly. Got a "white boy taco" which was good for what we wanted, and burgers which were still delicious and chicken fingers (which were done better this time). Service was OK - he was a bit salty and sarcastic which was cool most of the time, but not super attentive or as friendly like our first server was. All in all, would return for the tacos, burgers and decent drink specials.

This is a fun place to go for tacos in Lakeview right on Halsted Street right at Roscoe. Party like atmosphere with great music and excellent services. Try this neighborhood place!
