Transgender History Month 2026: Law, Healthcare for Youth, and Athletes

Monday, 17 August 2026 · 17:30 – 19:30 The Center Colorado, Denver, United States

About the event

Anti-trans policies are shaping law, access to healthcare for young people, and participation in sports. But these debates did not begin today. Their roots stretch back to the nineteenth century.
This interactive workshop asks how we got from there to here. Using a shared timeline, participants will teach one another key moments in trans history, discuss what those stories mean, and reflect on how historical knowledge can help us respond to fear, misinformation, and erasure in the present.
This is not a lecture. It is a community learning experience designed for healthcare practitioners, trans youth and their families, athletes and sports professionals, and anyone who wants a deeper understanding of this history.
