Abbey Archway Inn

The staff is impolite. The room was dirty. The housekeeper cleaned the room in just 5 minutes before our check-in, and we were still waiting. There were clumps of hair on the floor, dirty towels, and the sink was coated with grime and hair. The room smelled bad, and they tried to mask it with chemical scents. Everything was sticky and disgusting.

I had a train ticket from Anchorage booked via Alaska Airlines, but it was cancelled at the last minute due to severe weather conditions. This created a 'force majeure' situation, making it impossible for me to reach the hotel's location. As soon as it became clear that I would not be able to travel, I submitted a cancellation request via Booking.com. However, the hotel has not responded to my request. When I called the hotel directly, the staff informed me that the reservation site (Booking.com) has the authority to cancel it. On the other hand, Booking.com states that they require the hotel's approval to process a refund. I am currently stuck between both parties and unable to get my refund for a situation completely beyond my control."

I read some negative reviews and they seem to revolve around the off site building. We can’t speak for that experience. We stayed in the main center. When you come to a city of 35000 people in the middle of winter, don’t expect Dubai accommodations. The place was perfect. It’s locally family owned which I strongly support. I rather give my money to these folks to stay in business and Holiday Inn can look after itself. The gentleman received us at 2am, plus other guests and personally brought everyone to their suite. The suite was clean, very well equipped with fridge, stove…. Like an apartment. The beds were perfectly comfortable. It was beautifully warm despite -40 temperatures. Nothing went wrong and everything was working. Breakfast had variety and nutrition consistent with what to expect in the arctic area. We had a great stay.

Same as other guests , I have been fraudulently double charged for my stay at this hotel. They kindly message you about your arrival time but unfortunately without surprise they would never reply you when you try to reach them about this issue.

We reserved a room through Expedia for this property. We had a confirmation and our credit card was charged. When we made the reservation we indicated we would be arriving at 2:00 a.m. because our flight landed at Fairbanks airport at 1:00 a.m. We called and a very pleasant lady told us to call when we arrived. She even mentioned she had gotten someone checking in at 3:30 a.m. the day before. When we arrived we called and a man said he couldn't find our reservation. He also pointed out that it was 2:00 in the morning and people were trying to sleep. We called Expedia and they confirmed we had the reservation and our room was paid for. They tried to call the gentleman we spoke to but he refused to answer the phone. We had been traveling for over 15 hours and had no place to spend the night. Do not make reservations with this establishment because they will not honor them.

A quaint hotel that is a little over 3 miles away from the Fairbanks Airport. The office is located at one place and then some of the rooms are located about a half a mile away from the office. The lady who checked me in drove me from the office to the other location. Quiet kind of a residential location around it so not many options for food unless you uber it.

Avoid this place if you a traveller and needs bit comfortable Stay. We were checked in at Abby Archway Inn but placed in very old worn out building at intersection. 80' appliances and furniture - stained and worn out chairs, ancient coffee machine where paper filter is available but no coffee. Jacoozi was attraction but it was a trap as there was no water stopper found. Shower needs maintainable and replacements as water leaks from tap when u shower. I strictly would avoid such dungeon... I don't recommend this place. 1. Kitchen has some utensils and electric stove works - light and siction system also works ... 2. TV works

This place is the best great friendly homestyle/hostel style environment. It’s an old monastery everyone’s very forthcoming. Cannot recommend this place more. There’s no other place. I’ll stay in Fairbanks period.
