OBX Pride, Inc.

OBX Pride, Inc. is the Outer Banks' LGBTQ+ nonprofit, founded in Manteo in 2011. It runs OBX PrideFest, a free festival held each September at Roanoke Island Festival Park on the Manteo waterfront, with a weekend of side events around the island and the beach towns. Its stated mission covers anti-discrimination work, LGBTQ-friendly businesses and youth suicide prevention, and it has backed school gay-straight alliances and a memorial scholarship. There's no office or drop-in center; contact goes through obxpridefest.com and the group's social pages. In 2026 the organizers said they had lost their large corporate sponsors, so donations go further than they used to.
