About this place Stirrup

Stirrup is Nashville's answer to the leather-and-bear bar tradition — a venue that serves the leather, bear, and kink communities with the unpretentious welcome that the best venues in this niche have always offered. The bar has the character of a genuine local: regulars who have been coming for years, a staff that knows the scene, and an atmosphere that is welcoming without being aggressively marketed. The leather community in Nashville is smaller than in larger cities but no less genuinely present, and Stirrup provides the physical space where that community gathers. The Dickerson Pike location puts it north of the Church Street strip — accessible by rideshare and worth the extra journey for visitors whose interests align with what the bar offers. Special events including leather nights, bear nights, and community fundraisers are programmed throughout the year. The bar operates as a true community space — volunteer-run events, charity drives, and community organisation are all part of what Stirrup does beyond simply serving drinks.

I went for the quiz on a Monday night. Friendly and chilled environment. Cheap beer and friendly people.

This is a small neighborhood gay bar. NOT a restaurant. Crowd was not very friendly. Even the bar tender treated me a little cold. Nothing like the "old Stirrup". Bigly sad.
