What reviewers say

Visitors frequently praise the hotel's exceptional staff and its fantastic location with great views. However, some guests find the standard rooms to be very small for the high price, a common complaint for NYC hotels.

About this place The Standard, High Line

The Standard, High Line occupies one of New York's most dramatic hotel positions: the building straddles the elevated High Line park in the Meatpacking District, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Hudson River to the west and the city to the east. It is not an explicitly gay hotel in the way that the OUT NYC is, but it is emphatically and genuinely gay-friendly — the Meatpacking District location places it between the West Village's historic gay bars (the Stonewall, Julius', the Monster) and the Chelsea scene, and the hotel's culture reflects that geography. The Standard brand's emphasis on social spaces and nightlife — the rooftop bar, the Le Bain club, the multiple restaurants — means that the hotel functions as a social venue as well as an accommodation option. The floor-to-ceiling windows in the guest rooms are famously exhibitionist in character, which suits the neighbourhood. For visitors who want a design hotel experience in a gay neighbourhood with excellent access to both the West Village and Chelsea scenes, this is the most compelling option at the four-star level.

We had a fantastic stay here for 2 days while on a work trip ! The room was clean and comfortable with so much to do and see near by ! All of the staff was so nice and accommodating! Thank you to Ed for making some core memories for our son and shout out to the front desk :Joey / Sahara / Leslie / Nick! They were stellar and always had a welcoming attitude!! Will definitely be back !

The hotel is super cute and I have stayed at other standards and have always been happy. My only small personal issue was not having a coffee maker in the room for morning coffee and room service doesn’t open until 0700. The other issue was having my room on the 8th floor which there is an outside bar close so it was very loud with music and partying - again super fun but trying to sleep was a little bit of a struggle. My view was amazing tho !

Excellent hotel in the best part of town to stay in Manhattan. Door man David was amazing with my kid & the rooms were super clean ! Hotel has a very cool New York vibe ! Beds very comfortable. Would definitely suggest it to people looking to stay in Manhattan.

Located in the heart of southern Manhattan, it is actually really helpful for anyone on a business trip to NYC.

The staff’s attitude was passive-aggressive, rude, and unwelcoming. Front desk interactions were especially unpleasant and rude.

Do not stay here if you want a good night’s sleep! The earplugs in the bathroom should have been a clue. Thank god I brought my own. But even with my heavy duty silicone plugs I could still hear the loud bass and music from the rooftop club. What horrible customer service that reception didn't say anything when we checked in with our Globalist status. The AC and bedding were also horribly subpar. Horrible night - so horrible that we left the hotel at midnight. We couldn't even stay the night. Do not book here!
