As its subtitle suggests, Drew Pisarra’s latest hybrid is serving up All Hallow’s Eve a bit early. The book’s first half, Price in Purgatory, is an imaginative radio play about the titular actor’s Dantesque journey from Hell to Heaven. (“…hysterically funny and intensely thought-provoking…” — Arts Independent) The second part, Price in Celluloid, chronicles Pisarra’s decidedly personal exploration of Price’s extensive filmography, including some hard-to-find made-for-TV gems, as if Price were the whole point.
