Join us at the Bureau for a conversation between queer Muslim authors Mx. Yaffa and Randa Jarrar RSVP FOR THIS EVENT Both authors will be discussing their recent releases: Be Better Broken: In Service to Liberation and You Are a Teen Mom: Instructions. The lived experience and wisdom from these authors will inform all communities on how to tangibly build a liberated world. At this event there will also be a launch of the priority areas for trans and queer Muslims by a coalition of organizers and organizations that will help shape organizing priorities moving forward. This event will be co-hosted by MASGD (Muslim Alliance for Sexual and Gender Diversity) and Killjoy Institute. MASGD is a Trans Muslim Global Majority organization that supports, empowers and connects Trans and Queer Muslims and those who are values-aligned to build a liberated world. Killjoy Institute is a queer & trans led political home for the feminist killjoys building a liberated world through collective study and organizing. Mx. Yaffa is an author, organizer, and culture worker. Yaffa’s poetry, non-fiction, and fiction books have been sold globally and translated to various languages. Yaffa is the author of the poetry collections: blood orange, desecrated poppies, sage, and thistle, the non-fiction essay collections: whispers beneath the orange grove, living to 99, letters from a living utopia, and be better broken: in service to liberation, and the editor of the anthology: Inara.
