This was the second trip my wife and I have made to the bungalows to celebrate our anniversary. On the first one, a year ago, the property was owned by an investment group; on this trip the property was owned by Ritz Carlton. Last year was a solid 5 all around; this year not so much. The bungalow pool is, according to the sign on the gate, a "tranquility pool". Every afternoon during our week-long stay young children took over the pool. They did what kids do in a pool, and it was anything but tranquil. One day when they started arriving, 3 or 4 couples got up and left, practically in unison. I mentioned this to the bungalow management, but nothing changed. If you are a couple looking for a relaxing time, then do not visit in the summer. The cleaning staff needs better training. When we arrived there was a towel under the bathroom sink and a large hair stuck high up on the shower wall. The hair was still there when we left even though I told the cleaning staff and bungalow management about it. The bungalow grounds are very nice, but they are not as well maintained as they were a year ago. On the positive side, the room was great and the view was pretty much unbeatable. The concierge staff was most excellent and professional. We had a couple of maintenance issues and the staff was superb in every way. At the pool bar, Roy was the friendliest, hardest working person you can imagine. Constantly checking on everyone, making sure they had ice water, making everyone a smoothie each day, and making superb mixed drinks. He rates a 7 on a scale of 1 to 5! Unfortunately, as they say one drop of (anything bad) in a barrel of water makes it a barrel of (anything bad). This was not the overall experience I expected considering the cost of the room. Of course, your mileage may vary.

Everything at Turtle Bay was really great. I only felt like the room was a little too echo-y for my liking and the motion sensor in our room kept waking me up, not sure what its used for but its similar to an outside porch light sensor and would make a clicking noise. The space was pretty private aside from people walking to the beach on the shared lawn but that is to be expected. The bungalows are very quiet though and it felt like an oasis. Everyone at the resort was so nice and helpful. We do plan on coming back.
