About this place Poe Bistro Lounge at The Raven

Poe Bistro Lounge at The Raven has been a fixture in New Hope, Pennsylvania’s LGBTQ+ community since 1979.

For decades, this place has been a go-to for locals and visitors alike, a steady presence in a town known for its pretty scenery and anything-goes vibe. It’s got a split personality: a relaxed bistro up front, a lounge in the back. That means you can grab a casual dinner or settle in for a long night.

The kitchen’s menu pulls from all over, trying to hit a lot of different notes. It’s the kind of cooking you find a lot in New Hope, where restaurants that welcome LGBTQ+ diners tend to have broad appeal. And they’re serious about drinks here. The wine list is long enough that you won’t have trouble finding something to go with your meal.

You’ll find Poe Bistro Lounge at 385 W Bridge Street, right in the middle of New Hope’s walkable downtown. It’s a comfortable spot, whether you’re celebrating something big, just out with friends, or checking out the local food scene. Good food, good wine, and a long history in the community. I never post reviews but I feel the need to write about my experience at the Raven recently. One of the dancers I bought a drink for spilled it and the bartender was running around making drinks for everyone. When she noticed it the dancer was embarrassed and the bartender just said it’s okay we never cry over spilt anything and told us a story about growing up how her Mom used to yell at her if she spilled something. She smiled the brightest and sweetest smile I had ever seen and quickly cleaned it up and got the lady another one. The dancer said she was her favorite bartender because she is kind and cares so I asked her how long she had been working there and she said a few months. I asked if she liked it and she said she would never want to bartend anywhere else because the place felt like family and the owners treat everyone as such. I’ve come in every week since then to chat with that bartender who I have learned is named Rene. I would also like to say that I love the ladies. They sure know how to pay attention to someone! I feel like Don Vito Corleone when I go there! Wonderful staff and dancers. Highly recommend!

Just got home from the club & had a great time. Had a spectacular dance with Cashmere so I think she's my go to girl when I go. The bartender was so wonderful in checking if I was ok & before I headed home I even had a wonderful talk with Bud & he was a delight to talk to. I can't wait to go back again.
