Best Gay Bars & Clubs in Poughkeepsie

Poughkeepsie doesn't have a proper gay nightclub. The only LGBTQ+ spot we list is Goodnight Kenny, an LGBTQ+- and women-owned cocktail bar downtown. It's the closest thing the city has to a dedicated queer bar. That's the honest truth; we haven't tried to make the scene sound bigger than it is.

If you want a full-on gay bar, your best bets are the Unicorn Bar in Kingston (about 20 miles north, the mid-Hudson region's first LGBTQ+ bar, opened in 2024), The Roosevelt Bar in Beacon (about 15 miles south, with drag and queer dance nights), or the Hudson scene, even further north.

Poughkeepsie does have hotels, a waterfront restaurant, and the Dutchess County Pride Center. Those listings are real, checked, and current.
