About this place Fine Arts Work Center

The Fine Arts Work Center is a nonprofit residency program on Pearl Street in Provincetown, founded in 1968. Each year it gives seven-month winter fellowships to emerging writers and visual artists, and in summer it runs workshops open to the public. It's an arts organization, not a specifically LGBTQ one, though many queer artists have come through it, and it's central to Provincetown's history as an artists' colony. Visitors can attend readings, exhibitions and talks during the year. The summer workshop program fills up early. Check fawc.org for the calendar and registration.

I attended two summer writing workshops at FAWC and learned truly worthwhile things at both. The instructors were/are respected award-winning writers. Happy happy.

The Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, Massachusetts is superb for any artist wishing to move forward with their skills: writing, photography, printmaking, etc. I have taken six different weeklong Summer Program workshops and three Online courses. I recommend FAWC with enthusiasm. You’ll work hard, meet new fellow artists with similar interests, and — you’ll have FUN, too.
