Flicks is a gay video bar at 1017 University Avenue, in the middle of Hillcrest, San Diego's gay neighbourhood. It has been there for decades. Screens around the room play music videos and clips, and theme nights change through the week. It's a talking-and-drinking bar more than a club, with a mostly male crowd of locals. It opens daily from 2pm to 2am, and drinks are cheap. Happy hour and weekend nights are the busy times. Several other Hillcrest bars are a short walk away, so it works as a first or last stop.

We used to frequent this place. But the last few times that we have gone one specific security guard has had it out for my husband. This last time as soon as we got out of the uber he mad dogged him and made sure he didn’t get in. Management need to make sure they security dosnet have their own agenda when they have clientele that has been going there for years.
