What reviewers say

Visitors frequently praise Lambert House as a welcoming and supportive community for LGBTQ+ youth, with many crediting it for helping them find their identity and offering a safe space. However, one recent review expresses concern about the venue's safety, alleging that harassment claims were dismissed and that there is a lack of vetting to keep predators out.

About this place Lambert House

Lambert House has been a drop-in centre for LGBTQ+ youth in Capitol Hill since 1991, providing social support, peer community, and programming for young people ages 10 to 22. The centre operates on the straightforward premise that LGBTQ+ youth need safe, explicitly welcoming spaces outside of school and home — spaces where they can socialise, find peer community, and access information and support without having to manage their identity in the way they might elsewhere. The programming includes social evenings, discussion groups, art and creative activities, and referrals to other services including mental health and housing support. Lambert House is a deeply embedded Capitol Hill institution: the 15th Avenue location puts it in the heart of the neighbourhood, and its presence since 1991 gives it the institutional memory and community trust that newer organisations cannot replicate. For LGBTQ+ visitors to Seattle interested in supporting local community infrastructure, Lambert House is among the most straightforward organisations to engage with through donations or volunteer involvement.

Many moons ago I came here as a troubled youth. Lambert House was a place I could be myself and not worry about judgement. I made friends and was distracted from a tumultuous life. In the end I made poor choices and turned my back on the house that had given me so much. The director, Ken, was a generous man and I pray he is still there guiding the LGBT youth of today. If you are in need of help or support don't hesitate to stop by. You won't regret it.

Last summer I had gone here and it was fun. I plan on coming back on the last day of school and hopefully I wont be as paranoid to talk to people. Thank you guys for making this a safe place ❤️

Edit, 2024: I cannot see this as an actively safe place anymore. After allegedly denying any harassment by other youth I have received, there has been no vetting process into keeping predators out, or attempts to admit theyve had predators at all.
