My flight was canceled and I needed an emergency place to stay until I could leave town. I showed up and originally it seemed like they were all booked up but Jerome and David were able to find a room for me. They were even able to tell me where to buy a new phone charger in the middle of the night! Total lifesaver.

We came in for the 250 celebration. We were within CLOSE walking distance to the subway. The staff was great and held our luggage while we enjoyed our last day, even walked us to a private lounge to freshen up before we headed to the airport. I would definitely stay here again.

I stayed at Hyatt Place Washington DC from July 7 to July 9, and unfortunately this was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. After checking out, I realized that I had accidentally left my very valuable bag inside the closet in my room. I contacted the hotel immediately, but instead of receiving help, I was repeatedly told to leave a message and wait for housekeeping to contact me the next day. I called several times without getting any real assistance. The bag contained designer handbags and shopping worth approximately NOK 15,000. Since the hotel was unwilling to help, I even asked someone I met in Washington to visit the hotel in person. He explained the situation to the front desk, but the staff were dismissive, rude, and unwilling to even check for my bag. It is very difficult to believe that a bag left in a hotel room immediately after checkout simply disappeared without anyone knowing what happened. It feels as though someone kept it instead of reporting it to Lost & Found. The service throughout my stay was disappointing. The sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable, we had to prepare the bed ourselves, there were not enough towels in the room, and there was no complimentary water provided. Based on my experience, this hotel did not come close to the level of service I expected. The poor customer service and complete lack of effort to help recover my belongings made this an extremely frustrating and upsetting stay. I would not recommend this hotel.

Our room was uncomfortably hot and humid upon arrival. We then discovered blood stains on both the pull-out bed sheet and mattress. After reporting it immediately, we were told the mattress and sheets would be changed while we were at dinner, but nothing had been done when we returned. The only solution ultimately offered was four extra sheets to place over the stained mattress ourselves. We did not feel comfortable having our child sleep on it and slept poorly because of the situation. The next morning we found what appeared to be mildew inside the comforter, which likely explained the musty odor in the room. When we showed it to the front desk, we were told it was just feathers and no remedy was offered. Because we no longer felt comfortable staying in the room, we checked out early and paid for another hotel for the remainder of our trip. Based on our experience, housekeeping and maintenance standards need significant improvement, and the property would benefit from updating. Until then, DO NOT STAY HERE. Be aware that a lot of the positive reviews were meant for the other Hyatt Place near the national mall.
