About this place Bachelors Mill

Bachelors Mill, one of Washington's biggest gay clubs, sits on 8th Street Southeast, in a building that's seen generations of good times. This isn't some pop-up. Bachelors Mill is a fixture, and it acts like one: a gay bar and club where the crowd feels mixed, like a night out should. Washington's LGBTQ+ spots generally do a good job of feeling open, for locals and visitors both, with plenty of room to gather, hang out, and catch a show. The Southeast address puts it in a pretty easy spot to get to, with transit and food nearby. If you want a taste of DC's established gay bar scene, this is it. Check their hours and what's on before you go.

This place is a great place to dance for house music as there aren't many places who still play that great, rich, deep variety of house music which plays for the black gay from which it was historically born. Hopefully this century there will be a renaissance back to the jazzy fast music, disco and house. May this be a testament that the soul of black music and culture does not belong to Hip Hop but you can find it when you dance to house music.
