The honest version: Puerto Princesa has no gay hotel and no gay-owned property we could confirm. What it has is a good range of mainstream hotels where a same-sex couple checking in is a non-event. Pick by location: Rizal Avenue and Bancao-Bancao for restaurants and Tiki Resto Bar, the North Road for Robinsons Place mall, and San Pedro or Canigaran for something quieter.

Legal in one line: same-sex relations are legal in the Philippines and Puerto Princesa's City Ordinance No. 657 (2015) prohibits discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity.

Near Rizal Avenue and the centre

    • Blue Lagoon Inn & Suites: mid-range hotel on Rizal Avenue Extension in Bancao-Bancao, close to the airport. Google reviews average 3.8 from about 740 ratings, so treat it as a practical stopover.
    • Paboreal Boutique Hotel: about 14 rooms, an outdoor pool and a terrace in Bancao-Bancao; 4.3 on Google from about 60 reviews.
    • Floral Villarosa: mid-range hotel on Caimito II Road near the airport; 4.4 from about 190 reviews.
    • Purple Fountain Courtyard Inn: small, simple inn on Caimito II Road, a few minutes from the airport; 4.3 from about 55 reviews.

    North Road and San Miguel

    • Canvas Boutique Hotel: design-led boutique hotel with a pool at the corner of the North National Road and San Juan Road; 4.4 from about 630 reviews.
    • Hue Hotels and Resorts: large hotel at Km 3 of the North Road in San Manuel, near Robinsons Place; 4.4 from about 1,400 reviews.
    • Aziza Paradise Hotel: big city hotel on B.M. Road in San Manuel; 3.9 from about 1,000 reviews. The gay travel blog Nomadic Boys links to it from its Palawan guide.

    Quieter, resort-style

Practical tips

The airport is only 3 to 4 km from the centre, so almost every hotel here is a 10 to 20 minute tricycle ride away; around PHP 50 to Rizal Avenue in 2025. Hotels can book Underground River permits and Honda Bay tours, and most tours collect guests from the lobby. If you're heading on to El Nido or Port Barton, a night near the North Road saves time in the morning.
