About the venue
The Cardinal Bar at 418 E Wilson Street is a long-running Madison bar with roots in the city's Latino and LGBTQ+ nightlife. After several years closed it reopened under new owners and now runs Latin, swing and trivia nights for a general crowd. It is a gay-friendly mainstream bar, not a gay bar…
“Amazing service great drinks definitely worth a stop in.” — Garrett Mathison, Google
“We came on a Thursday and had a blast! We attended the 8:30pm salsa lesson and then enjoyed the live music and dancing immensely. The band was incredible and the overall vibe of the bar is great. It was super full but a lot of fun. We would definitely go back when we’re in town” — Rockford’s Ruby, Google
