super friendly staff, great location with incredible views. couldn’t ask for more and would happily recommend to everyone

This hotel was assigned to me through an HIS tour. I was quite apprehensive after reading Google reviews, but perhaps because I lowered my expectations, I didn't experience much inconvenience and was able to spend about a week there. Because I booked through HIS, I received hotel information written in Japanese at check-in. The rooms were cleaned daily and were generally clean. However, if you look closely, you might find dust accumulating in the corners of the room, so it's best not to look too closely. ^_^ lol If you're comfortable with a budget-friendly Japanese business hotel and just want a place to sleep, you should have no problem staying here. The train station is a bit far, about a 10-15 minute walk, but there was a bus stop nearby, which was convenient for getting to the city center. There was a Woolworths nearby, so I could buy souvenirs and snacks there, making the location not bad either.

About a 10 min walk to Kings Cross Station (well lit) with a 24 hour front desk. Room was large, clean, and comfortable, and hotel was easy to find. There was no view from my room, it faced an alley and a brick wall. If you are looking for 5 star accommodation, this is not it. However, if you just need somewhere to sleep, shower and shave, this is all you need. Kettle and mini fridge included (no snacks in fridge.) Milk, tea, and coffee provided.

Very good location, though a tired-looking hotel and room. Staff let me check-in super early which I was grateful for after traveling directly from London, and allowed me to store my bag for a few hours after check-out. Hot shower, comfortable bed, and AC, with a view of the water (photo from room 411).

The rooms are okay but the park near it is kind of scary. You will need to find a secure parking and walk to your hotel though.

They were incredibly kind, and I took my Australia Sydney etiquette lessons here every day.

Terrible!!!!!! With a big capital TTTT

Can I say this is the worst hotel I've stayed in during my over ten years of overseas experience? First of all, the location is remote, which is fine. Secondly, we had to carry our heavy luggage up and down the stairs to reach the elevator. Thirdly, the facilities in the room were really, really poor. We paid a high price for a room with a kitchen, but there was only a microwave and a few cups and plates in the kitchen. There was nothing else. We didn't use the kitchen at all during our stay, which was a waste of money. Other reviews mentioned that the sound insulation was bad, but I never expected it to be this bad. There was actually a door installed on the wall connecting our room to the next one. The two rooms were probably connected before, and the door was just locked. The thickness of the door was the same as that of the wall. On the first night of our stay, the voices of two women in the next room, including their phone calls, chatting, and laughing, were extremely loud. There was also a very noisy sound of tearing tape around midnight. Our child was sleeping at that time. This experience was terrible. What's worse, we negotiated with the front desk staff twice: the first time they told us that all the rooms were occupied and we needed to talk to the manager the next day. The second time they said that the guests in the next room would check out the next day. Later, we coordinated with the hotel through the platform where we booked the room for a refund. Surprisingly, the hotel staff lied and said they had offered us a room change, but we didn't accept it. They didn't even have basic integrity. We are very disappointed with the integrity of Australian staff. After multiple communications with the booking platform, the platform's customer service told us that the hotel admitted the noise problem but didn't offer a compensation plan.Finally, the platform gave us compensation. I strongly do not recommend this hotel where the staff are full of lies. Please don't go there. If there were zero stars, I would give Devere hotel zero stars.
