Open Living Room for Newly Arrived Queer People

Are you interested in the queer community, but often find yourself lost in queer conversations? Or are you worried you don’t know enough about the queer scene? Are you just starting to wonder if you might be queer? Or do you already know, but aren’t sure what comes next? Have you just moved to Kassel and want to get your bearings in the local communities? Or have you lived here for a while but haven’t yet dared to seek out queer connections? Then our open house hours for newcomers to the queer community are just for you. Together, we make a special effort to ensure that newcomers feel welcome. After all, we’ve all been new to these communities at some point. (We’d love for you to come by on any other day, too. You’re always welcome. But with these set dates, maybe more newcomers will be at the open house, and sometimes it’s easier to settle in together than alone.)

The open living room is run by volunteers and is open to everyone. Come by and get to know the Queer Center. Meet up with friends here to do crafts, play games, relax, or meet new people. We have Wi-Fi, a queer library, lots of games, a karaoke machine, a craft room, and much more. You can make tea and coffee in our kitchenette or grab a cold drink from the fridge. We welcome donations for drinks. And we look forward to seeing you! Grab your queer friends and come fill the Queer Center with life.
