What to do

The Serra do Cipó National Park protects canyons, waterfalls and endemic wildlife. Classic outings include the Véu da Noiva waterfall, the Cânion das Bandeirinhas, the Cachoeira da Farofa trail and the Lapinha valley walks. Where's the nightlife?

Many visitors combine a couple of nights in the city with a few days unwinding in Serra do Cipó. If you're driving between the two, the trip is straightforward.

Getting there

Most travellers arrive by car from Belo Horizonte (via the MG-010) or by regional bus to Santana do Riacho / Serra do Cipó, with pousadas arranging pickups. A car makes it far easier to reach the trailheads and waterfalls, which are spread out along the range.
