Many visitors combine a couple of nights in the city with a few days unwinding in Serra do Cipó. If you're driving between the two, the trip is straightforward.

Getting there

Most travellers arrive by car from Belo Horizonte (via the MG-010) or by regional bus to Santana do Riacho / Serra do Cipó, with pousadas arranging pickups. A car makes it far easier to reach the trailheads and waterfalls, which are spread out along the range.
