About the venue
Maximiliano is the gay cantina on Calle Morelos in the Centro Histórico, a block north of Jardín Zenea. Departure Level (January 2026) says it opened in 2009 as the first openly LGBTQ+ cantina downtown, and it kept going through the November 2024 closures that took out several other gay venues…
