About this place Kirketon Hotel Sydney

The Kirketon is a boutique hotel on Darlinghurst Road in Darlinghurst, between Kings Cross and Oxford Street. It is a mainstream hotel listed as gay-friendly, not a gay hotel. Rooms are compact and design-led, and the main reason to stay is location: the gay bars around Oxford Street and Taylor Square are a few minutes' walk away. Google reviewers give it 3.4 from over 500 reviews, with complaints usually about small rooms and street noise. It suits travelers who plan to be out most of the time. Kings Cross station is a short walk for trains into the city.

It's okay, not more, not less. A bit rundown, at least no annoying smell in the rooms. Everything a bit broken or heavily used, f.e. the sink was not even and the water didn't completely drain, stains and other marks in the shower, the AC looked very dusty. No elevator available. As I said, it's okay, the staff is friendly, and if you're just looking for a place to sleep, you'll be fine.

There is a reason it is so well priced !! Great location but that's about all . Extremely dated , you can hear every foot step and every conversation . Walls are like paper. Mediocre beds , extremely bad lighting and you can't have more than 1 person in a room . Also management don't mind if people having raging parties all night . If you complain , you are made aware of the night manager available after the fact . If you're looking for a place to pass out in , by all means .......
