Gay Bars & Clubs in Eilat

Eilat, Israel's southernmost city, is a Red Sea resort. Think coral reefs, sun-drenched beaches, and a holiday nightlife that gets going. But it doesn't have dedicated gay bars or clubs. There's no "gay village" here; Israel's queer scene is in Tel Aviv, a few hours north.

What Eilat does have is a relaxed, integrated resort vibe. LGBTQ+ visitors mix easily with everyone else at the city's mainstream bars and beach clubs.

Where to Go Out

Eilat's nightlife clusters in two spots: the promenade (Tayelet) along North Beach, which runs from the hotels toward the marina, and the downtown grid around the Tourist Center and shopping areas. Both are walkable from most hotels. They're liveliest through the Israeli weekend (Thursday to Saturday).

None of these are gay bars, but Israel's generally accepting culture means queer travelers are welcome everywhere.

Mainstream Venues Worth Knowing

Bardak Eilat — One of the city's best-known late-night clubs. It's in the Tourist Center, playing house, techno, and mainstream dance with Israeli and international DJs. A high-energy, mixed crowd stays late on weekends.

Selena Eilat — A big club on Carmel St with heavy production, electronic dance music, and guest DJs on holiday weekends.

Bar Beach (ברביץ') — A popular beach bar and club on the southern Almog Beach coast. They've got music, drinks, and a seaside terrace right on the Red Sea.

Shama Shama — A laid-back local pub and live-music bar. Expect Hebrew hits and international favorites. Good for a casual evening.

Tuki Bar — A small, casual central bar for relaxed drinks and easygoing nights.

These are all mainstream places. But they're friendly, easygoing spots to get a feel for Eilat's holiday nightlife.

What to Expect

Eilat's nightlife peaks Thursday through Saturday, and during Jewish holidays, summer, and winter breaks. That's when the resort's busiest. The atmosphere is casual, social, and beach-resort relaxed. There are no advertised "gay nights," so check venues' social media for events during your visit.

If You Want a Dedicated Gay Scene

For gay bars, clubs, and Pride events, head to Tel Aviv. That's Israel's LGBTQ+ hub, home to the largest Pride celebration in the Middle East. Or try Jerusalem.

Eilat works best as a sun-and-sea getaway, not a nightlife destination.

Practical Tips

Getting around: Eilat is compact. Most nightlife is walkable. Taxis are cheap and easy for longer hops.

Dress code: Casual to smart-casual. Don't wear swimwear away from daytime beach bars.

Age: Drinking age is 18. Carry ID.

Safety: Eilat is a safe resort city with low crime. Israeli LGBTQ+ protections are progressive. Take the usual precautions with drinks and belongings.
