Haifa Pride Parade

Haifa Pride is the main Pride event in northern Israel: traditionally a late-afternoon march through the city that ends with a stage show in Gan HaEm, the park in the Carmel Center next to the top Carmelit station. Wikipedia credits the 2023 parade with more than 6,000 people, the largest in the city's history.

The war years have broken the routine. In 2025 the parade moved from June to 27 August, and police tried to ban anti-government signs until the Supreme Court reportedly overturned the ban. In 2026 the municipality cancelled the march, citing about half a million shekels in police security costs, and held a static rally in Gan HaEm on Thursday 25 June instead, as part of a month of more than 50 city-funded Pride events. Local activists from HaKeshet HaHaifait raised their own money and marched anyway, from the Rotary circle along Sderot HaNasi to join the rally.
