About this place Video Pub

Video Pub is Jerusalem's long-running gay bar, a main spot for LGBTQ+ locals and visitors to meet up.

You'll find it on Yohanan Horkanos Street, right in the thick of things. It's a place that's always got something going on, from theme parties to live acts most nights.

They’re particularly known for their '80s and '90s nights, which crank out the hits you remember. The drag shows here are loud and fun, and the DJs actually listen to requests, so don't be shy about asking for your favorites. It's an easy place to get caught up in the party.

If you're looking for queer nightlife in Jerusalem, this is really the only dedicated gay bar. It's where the local scene hangs out, and a good bet for a lively night out. Check their website for what's on when you're in town.

As someone who recently moved from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and is used to spending a lot of time in community places, I can say with all my heart that this is one of the least pleasant places I have ever been. I arrived with good energy, but the treatment I received was simply disgraceful. The staff and the atmosphere of the place exudes arrogance and alienation. Even though the place defines itself as part of the community, I felt there was no acceptance or tolerance there – on the contrary, the treatment was cruel and disrespectful, especially in moments when I was a little less "aligned" and just wanted to be happy. It seems that the people there suffer from a lack of confidence that is projected onto the customers in the form of an empty representation of "elitism". If you are looking for a place that is embracing, happy and accepting – this is definitely not the place. Living proof that even in places that are supposed to be the most open, you can find the most narrow-minded and arrogant people there are. Not recommended at all.
