One of the best bars I have been to, definitely my favorite in Japan. The bar owner is funny, sassy, and keeps it real. He pours heavy drinks, I recommend the LARGE drinks, best bang for your buck. This ain’t a museum, you gotta order a drink and be ready for people smoking inside. I came here 3 nights in a row because I simply could not get enough and each night I met wonderful people from all over the world. Overall, come here if you’re whimsical and have an open mind for new experiences. BONUS: Mario Kart!!

I’ve been living in Japan for 20 years and this place has a vibe that’s hard to find. From the moment you walk in, it just feels right, warm, relaxed, with good energy and people enjoying themselves ✨🌈 The owner is amazing! Truly one of those people who makes you feel welcome straight away, and you can tell he really cares about the space and everyone who walks through the door 💛 The drinks are also really good 🍸 I took a gay friend with me for a night out, and we ended up coming back every single night he was in Osaka because we had such a good time, and that alone says a lot. If you’re in Osaka, you can’t miss this place, it’s something special! 🌟

TL;DR: Ignore the 1 ★ reviews—this place is FUN, welcoming, and PERFECT if you’re travelling solo. Friendly host, FUN, easy to make friends, good drinks, and great karaoke. Came twice in two days—that says everything. Came here towards the END of a long Tokyo → Kyoto → Osaka trip with my family (where I was basically the planner, porter, accountant… everything 😭), so by this point I wasn’t looking to reset—I just wanted a place to LET LOOSE and have a proper drink. I found Frenz Frenzy while searching for a chill gay bar, but I’ll be honest—the bad reviews made me hesitant. Travelling alone + already dealing with enough stress from the trip, the last thing I wanted was more negative energy. I was genuinely worried about walking into an unwelcoming place. But since I was nearby and it was getting late, I decided to just try—one drink, vibe check—if it’s not giving, I’m getting my ass up and leaving. Well, I did not leave. The bar is a little tucked away, so it might take a moment to find, but once you see it, you’ll know it since the entrance is bright, BOLD and impossible to miss. Inside, it’s a smaller space but full of personality—colourful, campy, slightly chaotic in a fun way, and honestly just very easy to settle into. Drinks were solid. I had the large beer (2,000 yen) and it definitely delivered, and even the cocktail names already tell you the vibe—playful, cheeky, and not taking itself too seriously. What really made the experience was the host. He’s chatty, WITTY, friendly, super fun, and actually talks to you—with great puns throughout the night that keep the energy up. Not cold at all like what some reviews suggested. I went alone, and within minutes he was chatting with me and even introduced me to other groups, which turned into proper conversations and new friends by the end of the night. That kind of effort really stands out, especially when you’re solo. And like most bars in Japan, you just need to order a minimum of one drink to join in the fun, which is very reasonable. AND this was honestly my favourite part—he found out I do livestreams and content creation, and suddenly I got a full MAIN CHARACTER moment. I was singing My Heart Will Go On, and he literally turned on spotlight, added smoke effects, and even got someone to film it for me. I was actually shocked by the level of service and effort—it didn’t feel forced at all, just very fun and thoughtful. They also have karaoke and the sound system is actually GOOD—clear, loud, and fun, not those awkward muffled setups. Everything else was smooth too, from payment (cards accepted) to small thoughtful touches like hangers for jackets, and even the toilet was clean. The crowd is mostly tourists with some locals, so it’s VERY easy to blend in even if you’re alone. During one of the conversations, the owner even mentioned that Lady Gaga and Bowen Yang have visited before (you can ask him about it 👀), which honestly checks out with the vibe. I enjoyed it so much I came back TWO nights in a row before flying back to Singapore, which honestly says everything. Overall, this place completely exceeded expectations and ended my trip on such a high note. If you’re in Osaka and looking for a gay bar that’s welcoming, social, and actually FUN—just go. Don’t overthink it like I almost did.

We fell in love with Osaka during our visit to Japan. The city is full of tiny bars tucked into side streets, and this was one of them. Like many bars in Osaka this one is quite small, but it’s also one of the best decorated we saw. There’s lots of color, video screens and lights which make it look really cool. You can tell effort has been put into making the space look good and creating a fun environment. We visited a couple of times and on our last visit we sat at the bar by the door. From there we could see people coming and going, and what surprised us was how many people walked in clearly without any intention of buying a drink or spending money. For such a small bar with limited seats it’s pretty obvious the owner needs customers to order drinks in order to turn a profit. He’s clearly put effort into making the bar look great and creating a fun place to visit. I don’t really understand the reviews from people complaining about having to buy a drink. Expecting to use a venue for free doesn’t seem reasonable. The drinks are fairly priced and honestly I just think of it as the cover charge for enjoying the bar. That’s also just how Osaka works. Every bar we went to required you to buy something. Just like people smoking in bars there. It’s not my favorite either, but that’s how the city operates and as a visitor it’s not really my place to say otherwise. Anyway it’s definitely worth a visit and so are the bars that are in the same building. They are all great.

We walked into an empty bar and were seated. The bartender (who appears to be the owner) asked where we were from — we said California. My partner ordered a drink, and when it was my turn, I said I’d skip this round. He responded by saying I was “required to order or I’d be trespassing.” If there is a one-drink minimum policy, that’s completely understandable, however, it was delivered in a harsh and confrontational tone, with no explanation. Had it been communicated politely, I would have ordered something without issue. As we decided to leave, he added, “Always the rude California.” The overall attitude felt unnecessarily hostile. As non-white visitors, the interaction left us feeling particularly unwelcome. After reading other reviews and the owner’s responses, there seems to be a pattern in how guests are addressed. A bit more professionalism and basic hospitality would go a long way.

All I can say is, this bar is a must visit if you are in Osaka and looking for a fun gay night on the town! The bar owner was hilarious and made the night so much fun.

I'm from Mexico, and this was my first time in Osaka. I didn't know where to go, so I ended up here. The host makes you feel right at home. He's very kind and makes everyone who arrives feel welcome. It's a really cool atmosphere! Thank you, I had a great time.

I went on an off night. Not a lot of people but the bartender was very friendly and very knowledgeable of Japanese culture. Ask him about the famous patrons. Smoking is allowed inside. I imagine this place to be a hit on a busy night.

I love more "offbeat" places like this and sadly they are becoming more rare, so go while you can. The bartender is genuinely friendly and there's no cover charge - just a one drink minimum. Drinks are reasonably priced too - ¥1000 for a strong double. I had a great night here - everyone was friends by the end of it!
