Ah House

What an oasis nestled in a quiet street in the heart of Nelson. Every detail has been thought of by the hosts Mark & John; the rooms and property are a delight to explore with art and vintage details. Breakfast was delicious with homemade granola and bread, and host of freshly cooked options to your tastes. Spotlessly clean and comfortable. Fantastic location where you can be in the heart of the city in a few minutes. We stayed in the garden room which was cosy and private. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a warm and welcoming place to stay.

We had high hopes for these hosts based on the prior reviews. However, our ferry was cancelled and we ended up having to cancel our reservation. When we canceled, only 3 hours and 48 minutes outside of the 48 window due to the late cancellation of our ferry, they charged us the full amount and claimed it was “industry standard” even knowing our situation. Very disappointed. Beware of these “policies.” Editing to respond to Ah House’s reply to my review. The owners did cancel our booking and charge us with their first email response that had an invoice attached- contrary to their reply. When we emailed back inquiring about the charge, as our booking confirmation stated a 2 day cancellation period, they told us that our cancellation was within their 48 hour policy, not 5 days as their reply claims. Just be mindful of these things when booking there.

Absolutely lovely doesn't do this place justice. A room at the Ah House is akin to being transported to a beautiful English garden. Our hosts Mark & John go above and beyond to ensure every need is met. Just wonderful! ❤️

Cozy accommodation, warm welcome...

The hosts and the breakfast are definitely something special

We stayed in garden apartment and found it spacious and very comfortable. Mark and John were wonderful hosts with a great sense of humor. Walking distance to town. Wonderful cooked breakfasts with homemade bread.

I would give 10 stars if I could. We felt so comfortable. Mark and John are perfect hosts and the garden house was very romantic. The breakfast was also beautifully presented. Love it!

Ah House was a delight! Mark & John were such helpful, welcoming hosts and our room was adorable! Great food, great location with just an easy walk into town. Highly suggest staying here on your trip to Nelson!

We very recently stayed at Ah House & just loved it! The garden apartment we stayed in was beautifully (& quirkily) decorated, spotlessly clean & very comfortable. Hosts Mark & John could not be more welcoming & helpful. We also enjoyed their homemade goodies for breakfast especially the bread & preserves. Ah House is perfectly located in that you feel like you are almost in the countryside but you can quickly & easily walk to town for all the great dining etc to be had there. We really recommend this great B & B and would love to one day return 😊
