Metro Manila Pride March is one of the largest LGBTQ+ Pride events in Asia ? a mass gathering in the streets of Metro Manila each June that draws hundreds of thousands of participants in what is simultaneously a political demonstration and a joyous Filipino celebration. The march has been organised continuously since 1994, making it one of the oldest Pride events in Southeast Asia, and it has grown exponentially in scale and visibility over the past decade. The 2025 edition drew an estimated 300,000 participants to the streets, consolidating Manila's position as a major destination for regional LGBTQ+ travel in Pride month. The march format is the full-scale Filipino experience: elaborate floats, corporate contingents in branded uniforms, advocacy organizations with banners and megaphones, community groups in themed costumes, and thousands of individual participants in various states of festivity. The Filipino approach to Pride combines genuine political urgency ? the SOGIE Equality Bill remains unpassed, and the community's advocacy work continues ? with the exuberance and good humour that characterises Filipino public celebrations generally. The route winds through major Metro Manila streets, typically concluding at a public venue with a programme of performances, speeches, and community events. Corporate sponsorship is extensive, reflecting the Filipino business community's alignment with LGBTQ+ visibility. International visitors who time their Manila trip to coincide with Pride week will find a full calendar of pre- and post-march events across Malate, BGC, and Makati ? parties, community gatherings, film screenings, and cultural events that extend the celebration well beyond the march itself. Book accommodation at least two months in advance for Pride weekend.
