About this place SugarBowl Bar & Restaurant

SugarBowl Bar & Restaurant on Silom Soi 4 is a chill spot in Bangkok’s main LGBTQ+ area, good for a drink, a meal, or just watching the street.

It’s more than just a bar; it’s a proper restaurant too. You can swing by for a quick cocktail or settle in for dinner. The staff are genuinely friendly, and the kitchen puts out solid Thai and international plates, alongside a cocktail list that knows what it’s doing.

Silom’s been Bangkok’s gay quarter forever, packed with bars, restaurants, and clubs that draw both locals and travelers. You’ll find everything here, from quiet daytime hangouts to places that go hard until dawn. SugarBowl sits on the more relaxed end of that spectrum—it's where you go for conversation and people-watching, not to grind on a dance floor.

The food is what really makes it stand out from the drinking-only places. They do Thai stuff and international dishes; the spare ribs get a lot of love. Throw in some well-made cocktails and a comfortable room, and you’ve got a spot where an evening can just disappear, without anyone rushing you out the door.

I came here for my 25th birthday. When we got in it was a nice vibe and felt familiar to what my group and I were used to. We danced until there was a song we didn’t necessarily vibe with and stopped for no more than 1 minute. The dj, vibe man, whoever he is. Called us out and on the mic saying dance or get out. Called security to remove us. And said we could only stay if we danced. As if we hang been dancing up until that very moment. I’m so disappointed and it’s genuinely so disgusting that that’s the experience that I had. They want to play Black American music but mistreat Black Americans. Ok. This would have been a great experience if not for that disrespectful man. He should be fired.

There were only 5 patrons inside. My highlight was the gentleman at the bar pouring the drinks.

If u r into rnb hiphop stuff then it is the real gem. I visited GOT, Climax, Dope and dirty, truth or dare but this one hits different. I highly recommend it. Its the only club with hiphop music that’s true. Entry fee for man 400 baht plus free drink, and for women 300 baht.
