About this place U-Turn

U-Turn, a small host bar, is at 20 ซอยประดิพัทธ์ in Bangkok’s LGBTQ+ district.

This address has a history in the local gay scene: It’s where the well-known Stax go-go and Heaven host bar used to be. U-Turn follows the traditional Thai hospitality model, meaning you can stop in for drinks and talk in a social setting.

Bangkok’s gay bar and club scene is known for being open and having many different places to go. Host bars like U-Turn tend to be more intimate than bigger clubs, with staff who are up for chatting.

If you're looking to meet locals or other travelers, or just want to see this side of Bangkok's LGBTQ+ culture, host bars give you a distinctly Thai take on gay nightlife.

Dress codes and entry policies vary at places like U-Turn, so it’s smart to check ahead. The neighborhood itself has deep roots in Bangkok’s gay community and has other bars, clubs, and restaurants nearby. As with any nightlife spot, know your surroundings and plan how you'll get home.

Good food at exceptional prices. Amazingly varied menu with both Thai and international cuisine from all over the world. The Thai food particularly stood out. I would advise buying your own wine and bringing it with you as their wine menu is basic and lacking creativity. Corkage fee is only 100 baht....

We had dinner with the whole family! We chose this place for our final dinner on Koh Chang. ❤️🥹🌿 Oh my! It's so beautiful here! 🌿🥰 Picturesque! It was a joy to behold ❤️ We sat at a table among the trees and greenery, as if we were in a fairytale forest!) The menu is varied, with both European and Thai cuisine. The kids chose burgers, and they were so huge 😳😃😆 we also ordered pizza! The battered shrimp were so tender 🥰 I recommend this cafe, especially in the evening, after sunset. 🥰 You can park your car or bike near the cafe along the road.

The food tasted good. However, I'm not sure if they used Argentinian squid, which slightly diminished the flavor (it was tough and chewy). But the price was reasonable. The staff provided good service and the food came out quickly.

We came to this restaurant for dinner, and when we looked at the menu, we saw the restaurant's dogs being beaten in front of the guests. Afterwards, the five or six dogs were locked in a cage. We immediately lost our appetites, and so did we.
