About this place ibis Bangkok Sathorn

Located on Soi Ngam Duphli in Bangkok's Sathorn area, this 3-star hotel offers a straightforward, comfortable base for LGBTQ+ visitors to Thailand's vibrant capital. The property delivers the consistent standards you'd expect from the ibis chain worldwide — clean, functional rooms with no surprises, making it a reliable choice for travellers who prioritize value and convenience over luxury amenities. The location is one of the property's strongest assets. Positioned within walking distance of Babylon sauna and other LGBTQ+ venues in the area, it puts you close to Bangkok's gay scene while maintaining a discreet presence. The nearby Lumpini Park offers green space for morning walks, and the Sathorn neighbourhood provides easy access to Bangkok's broader attractions and nightlife. The hotel's restaurant is on-site, useful for grabbing meals without venturing out. This isn't the most glamorous option in Bangkok's LGBTQ+ accommodation landscape, but it strikes an appealing balance between affordability and practicality. The straightforward approach — no frills, no pretence — appeals to travellers who want a safe, welcoming base without premium pricing. It's an especially solid pick if you're planning to spend your time exploring the city's gay venues and attractions rather than luxuriating in your room. Whether you're visiting Bangkok for a few nights or using it as a home base for longer exploration, this hotel delivers on the fundamentals that matter: cleanliness, reliability, location, and value.

good hotel with reasonable prices. I stayed there in August 2025 and was left with only positive impressions. The only downside is the tuk-tuk shuttle service to the MRT station. It works in a rather unusual way — you need to book it in advance for a specific time, and the driver is not always waiting on-site. It’s a bit confusing at first, but I think there won’t be any problems once you understand how it works.

It's easy to get there... and the parking lot is spacious.

I would like to file a complaint against a housekeeper named Phantip. On the day of my stay, I left four bottles of shampoo, soap, and face wash in the bathroom. I was not informed of this. When I called reception, they said the housekeeper had thrown them away. What is your company policy? You just throw away items without informing customers? The value isn't high, but I want to know your work procedures. Is this how you operate? Hotels are everywhere, but your staff isn't being trained to international standards. I demand that you train your staff and compensate me for the items you threw away. The security guard didn't help me with parking either.

This hotel is conveniently located near the MRT and a 7-Eleven. It's pet-friendly and overall good. However, I previously suggested improving the staircase by installing black and yellow striped markers, as people with vision problems may have difficulty distinguishing the steps when descending.

The hotel is clean, comfortable, and the service is friendly and professional from check-in to check-out. Nong Luk Pla at the restaurant was welcoming and attentive, quick and friendly.
