Gay cruising in Paris: the honest 2026 picture

Paris runs the deepest indoor cruising scene in Western Europe after Berlin, and most of it hides behind unmarked doors. If you searched cruising Paris, lieux de drague gay à Paris or bar à backroom Paris, this is the page: six verified cruising spots on our list (two forests, two men-only cruise clubs, a fetish bar and a naturist bar), plus a corridor of eight backroom bars and cruise clubs we list under bars, and eleven saunas. Entry runs from free to about 25 euros, dress codes are real and enforced, and Sunday evening is the week's big session. The famous Le Dépôt on rue aux Ours is closed and has been since the pandemic; several older guides still send people there. Outdoor cruising in the Bois de Vincennes and Bois de Boulogne continues, but with far more police presence than ten years ago, so the honest advice in 2026 is: meet in the woods if you like, finish indoors.

Last verified: November 2026, from venue websites, French and international listings dated 2025-2026, and City of Paris documents. Full street map on our gay cruising map.

The verified cruising spots

These six carry their own pages in our cruising category. Each was checked in October-November 2026 against at least one 2025-2026 source. Where hours came from third-party listings rather than the venue itself, we say so.

Bois de Vincennes · Allée Royale, 12th arrondissement

The gay forest of Paris. Cruising happens in the denser groves off the Allée Royale, in the woods around Lac Daumesnil and on the stretches behind the château, well away from the playgrounds, the zoo and the main avenues. It is quieter and greener than Boulogne and far less tied to sex work. Take metro line 1 to Château de Vincennes for the Allée Royale end, or line 8 to Porte Dorée for Lac Daumesnil; the forest is enormous and the wrong station costs you a half-hour walk. Activity peaks late afternoon to dusk and again after dark in summer. Police patrol daily, mostly targeting prostitution networks, and a 2023 parliamentary answer confirms regular checks across the wood. Treat it as a meeting place: phone charged, valuables at home, and move anything beyond a conversation indoors. Free, open all hours, no facilities.

Bois de Boulogne · beyond Porte Dauphine, 16th arrondissement

Busier, more complicated. The wooded trails past Porte Dauphine (metro line 2) and toward the equestrian centre and southern paths have been cruised for a century, but after dark whole sections of the Bois belong to sex work, and the gay corners share the forest with everything else. A neighbourhood council report published by the City of Paris in 2025 notes police teams now operate in the Bois de Boulogne night and day, following the mayor's requests to the police prefect; parking bans on the forest roads were tightened for the same reason. Daylight to dusk is the comfortable window. Porte Maillot or Les Sablons (line 1) also serve the northern edge. Free, no facilities, and nothing here is worth a lost wallet.

Full Metal · 40 rue des Blancs-Manteaux, Marais

The leather, rubber and gear bar of the Marais, one of the oldest cruising addresses still open in the district. A bar at street level, playrooms behind and below. The dress code is a real one: leather, rubber, skin, sport, uniform, underwear or naked, with theme nights that narrow it further, and the door turns away jeans-and-sneakers. Listings dated 2025-2026 give evenings from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m. on weekdays, 6 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, and Sunday from 5 p.m.; entry has been around 12 euros in recent listings, with condoms, lube and gloves provided. Check the programme before crossing town, because a themed night can mean a dress code you do not own. Google reviews are mixed, mostly about door attitude; regulars are loyal.

REDZONE · 9 rue du Pélican, 1st arrondissement

The central-Paris newcomer, a few minutes' walk from the Palais-Royal and the Louvre, which puts it closer to most hotels than anything in the Marais. Men only, two floors, underwear-or-nothing dress code, part bar and part play space. Listings last updated in August 2025 give nightly hours from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m. with a happy hour from 6 to 8. It draws a younger, more international crowd than the Marais fetish bars and is a sensible first cruise club for a visitor. We could not find a 2026-dated source for its hours, so confirm on the night.

XK Boys · 150 rue Saint-Maur, 11th arrondissement

The east-side cruise club near Oberkampf and Goncourt: glory holes, slings and private cabins on a compact floor, evenings and late nights, closed Mondays. It is the local alternative to the Marais for men who live in the 10th, 11th and 20th and want a short walk home. Google reviews average 3.5, which is typical for the type; the complaints are about cleanliness on busy nights, not safety. Men only, 18+, cloakroom at the door.

Entre Deux Eaux (E2O) · 45 rue de la Folie-Méricourt, 11th arrondissement

The small naturist bar between République and Oberkampf. Clothes go into a bag at the door and the whole place is nude: a ground-floor bar with benches and a basement cruising area. The crowd is men roughly 30 to 60, more relaxed and less touristy than L'Impact, with a loyal group of regulars. Verified open in April 2026 with hours Monday to Thursday 5 p.m. to midnight, Friday and Saturday to 2 a.m., Sunday 4 to 11 p.m. Entry is cheaper than the big clubs and includes a drink. Packed is the point here; a quiet weeknight can be very quiet.

Bars à backroom and cruise clubs we list under bars

Paris does not separate its scene the way our categories do: most of the city's hardest cruising happens inside licensed bars with a backroom or a basement, so the following live on our Paris bars page. All were confirmed operating in 2025-2026 listings.

L'Impact · 18 rue Greneta, 2nd arrondissement

The strictly-naked institution, a short walk north of the Marais at Réaumur-Sébastopol (lines 3 and 4). Clothes go into the secure cloakroom at the door, shoes stay on, and the bar upstairs is where people talk comfortably undressed before the themed rooms below. The official site lists Monday to Wednesday 7 p.m. to 4 a.m., Thursday to Saturday 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday 5 p.m. to 4 a.m. Entry includes cloakroom and a drink: 20 euros Sunday to Thursday and 25 euros Friday and Saturday for over-30s, 15 euros under 30, 10 euros under 25, and free for under-25s on Sunday, with official ID required for the reduced rates (prices posted April 2025). Monday is underwear-or-naked, the rest of the week is 100 percent naturist. Oddly the most welcoming door in the scene for first-timers: the rule applies to everyone, which kills the nerves fast. Sunday from 5 is the famous session. Official site: impact-bar.com.

Le SecteurX · 49 rue des Blancs-Manteaux, Marais

Across the street from Full Metal, which makes rue des Blancs-Manteaux the fetish corridor of the Marais. SecteurX opens earlier than anyone, daily from 3 p.m. (to 4 a.m., 6 a.m. Friday and Saturday) with a happy hour until 10 p.m., and rotates nightly themes: SM, jocks, naked, leather, bears. Time Out calls it one of the most hardcore cruise clubs in Paris; it is also known for unusually friendly staff. The crowd skews a little older and rougher than Full Metal. Between the two doors, one street covers the entire fetish week.

Le Keller · 14 rue Keller, Bastille

The historic hardcore house, decades deep in the BDSM and fisting tradition: slings, cages, St Andrew's cross, glory holes, a pillory. Open Thursday 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., Friday and Saturday 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., and the Sunday session from 5 p.m. to midnight. A dress code is required every night and changes by theme, so read the agenda on lekeller.fr before you go; house rules run down to no perfume. Entry has been around 20 euros with cloakroom and a drink. This is serious equipment for serious practitioners, not a bar you wander into.

Krash · 12 rue Simon-le-Franc, Marais

Formerly the QG. Free entry, men only, a porn screen by the door pointing you down the steps to the basement, which is a complete sex club even on weeknights. Hours in current listings: Monday to Thursday 3 p.m. to 5 a.m., Friday 3 p.m. to 7 a.m., Saturday 2 p.m. to 7 a.m., Sunday 2 p.m. to 5 a.m., happy hour 3 to 10 p.m. Small and very packed at weekends; Time Out's advice to stick to the big event nights is fair. Google reviews from spring 2026 praise the private booths.

Le Mensch · 34 rue Charlot, north Marais

Cruising in medieval cellars: the former Glove, a labyrinth of hundreds-of-years-old vaults under the Haut Marais with a well-equipped downstairs play area and a weekly leather night on Saturdays. Free entry with a mandatory drink. Open seven days: Monday to Wednesday 9 p.m. to 3 a.m., Thursday 6 p.m. to 3 a.m., Friday 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., Saturday 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Metro Filles du Calvaire.

The Marais bars with a darkroom

    • Le RAIDD (23 rue du Temple): the shower shows in a glass box above the bar are a Paris institution; it is the bridge between the social Marais and the clubs, not a cruise venue itself.
    • Bear's Den (6 rue des Lombards): small darkroom at the back for the bear crowd.
    • One Way (north Marais): bears and leather upstairs, darkroom and video corner downstairs.
    • Quetzal (10 rue de la Verrerie): the oldest cruisy bar in the district, darkroom upstairs and a long happy hour below.

    The saunas, briefly

Eleven saunas are listed on our Paris saunas page, and almost all of them discount under-26s (sometimes under-30s), often close to half price, on presentation of real photo ID: a photo of your passport on a phone is regularly refused. The ones that matter for a cruising trip: Sun City (62 boulevard de Sébastopol) is the party flagship and the after-club of the Marais, open until 6 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, with entry around 20-22 euros and a reduced rate for under-26s; IDM (4 rue du Faubourg-Montmartre) is the value pick, around 40 themed rooms, glory-hole booths and a labyrinth from midday to the small hours; Les Bains d'Odessa (Montparnasse) is the grand bathhouse with a real pool, an afternoon place that closes at 10 p.m.; Key West near Gare du Nord is the arrival-day sauna if you come in on the Eurostar; Euro Men's Club (Bourse) serves the mature crowd in daytime hours; Le Riad (20th) is hammam-styled and cheap for under-26s; Star City is the premium ticket at 50 euros and up. Prices change often and the venues do not always publish them; treat every figure here as a guide.

    When to go

The indoor scene is seasonless: a January Tuesday at L'Impact looks like a July one. The weekly rhythm is what matters. Sunday is the big day, with a precise choreography: late brunch or apéro in the Marais around 4 p.m. (the Sunday crowd at Le Cox, 15 rue des Archives, is its own institution), the move to L'Impact or Le Keller from 5, and Sun City to close. Friday and Saturday run latest (6 a.m. at L'Impact, Full Metal and SecteurX, 7 a.m. at Krash). Weeknights are quiet before 11 p.m. and SecteurX and Krash, with their mid-afternoon openings and happy hours, are the places to go early. The woods peak on warm late afternoons, especially weekends, and in summer after dark; winter weekday evenings are empty and not recommended.

Peak weeks: the Marche des Fiertés at the end of June pushes every venue here to capacity for a fortnight (see Paris Pride Fortnight); Paris Bear Pride in May fills Full Metal, SecteurX and One Way; the Tournoi International de Paris on Pentecost weekend brings several thousand sportsmen into town; and Chéries-Chéris, the queer film festival, runs 14-24 November 2026. The roving layer is the cruising-party circuit: Morning Deviance, the Sunday-morning after-party (5 a.m. to noon, with a playroom) now based at Workshow at 173 rue Saint-Martin, plus lines like Cruising Factory, Skeet, Under and Darkroom landing at changing clubs. Dates are announced on their Instagram and ticket pages a few weeks ahead; 2027 dates are not announced yet.

Getting there and around at night

The Marais cluster is walkable: Full Metal, SecteurX, Krash, Le RAIDD, Bear's Den and Quetzal are within five minutes of each other around Hôtel de Ville and Rambuteau (lines 1 and 11). L'Impact is ten minutes north at Réaumur-Sébastopol (3, 4), REDZONE ten minutes west at Palais-Royal or Louvre-Rivoli (1, 7), Le Mensch at Filles du Calvaire (8), Le Keller at Ledru-Rollin or Bastille (1, 5, 8), XK Boys and E2O at Goncourt or Parmentier (3, 11). The metro runs until about 12:45 a.m. Sunday to Thursday and 2:15 a.m. Friday and Saturday; after that it is the Noctilien night bus network from Châtelet, or Uber and Bolt, which are plentiful in the Marais at 5 a.m. Bois de Vincennes is at the end of line 1, which is almost suspiciously convenient; Bois de Boulogne is Porte Dauphine (2) or Porte Maillot (1). Neither forest has lighting on the cruising paths, and the last metro from Château de Vincennes leaves before 1 a.m. on weeknights.

    Apps, Paris edition

Grindr and Scruff are the baseline, and the density inside the Marais on a weekend night is absurd. Sniffies has become the real-time cruising map for the layer this page covers: Vincennes, the backrooms, the saunas, with people posting live from inside venues. Recon and BLUF cover the leather and fetish calendar, and BLUF lists Le Mensch's Saturday leather night. Hornet and Romeo are weaker here than in Germany. Two Paris habits: profiles say which arrondissement, not which bar, and "soirée" plans form late, around midnight, so do not read silence at 10 p.m. as a dead night.

    The law

France is as friendly as Europe gets. Homosexuality was decriminalised in 1791, same-sex marriage and joint adoption have been legal since 2013, discrimination on grounds of sexual orientation or gender identity is illegal, and conversion therapy was banned in 2022. Licensed cruise clubs, naturist bars and saunas operate in the open, with signage, websites and Google listings; nobody is raiding them. The one offence that touches this page is exhibition sexuelle, sex in a place where you can be seen by someone who did not consent to see it: the woods run on that rule, which is why discretion, depth and dusk matter, and why police checks in both Bois are mostly aimed at prostitution networks rather than at gay men. Age of majority is 18 and every venue listed enforces it with ID.

    Health: PrEP, testing and PEP

    • PEP within 72 hours of a risk: go to the emergency department (urgences) of any public hospital; it is free under the French system, including for visitors. Hôtel-Dieu by Notre-Dame and Saint-Louis in the 10th are the central ones.
    • Le Checkpoint Paris, 36 rue Geoffroy-l'Asnier in the 4th, is the community sexual-health centre in the Marais, run by Groupe SOS: free rapid HIV and STI testing, PrEP initiation and follow-up, PEP counselling and free condoms, with a CeGIDD (free testing centre) status. Opening hours vary by day; check before you go.
    • Le 190, 90 rue Jean-Pierre-Timbaud in the 11th (le-190.fr), is the LGBTQI+ sexual-health centre of eastern Paris, with PrEP and STI appointments mostly booked through Doctolib and a limited number of walk-in testing slots.
    • PrEP is mainstream in France and any doctor can prescribe it; bring your own supply for a trip. Doxy-PEP is not routinely offered.
    • Condoms, lube and gloves are provided at Full Metal, SecteurX, Le Keller and L'Impact; the saunas sell or give condoms at the desk.
    • Emergency number: 112. Most pharmacies close by 8 p.m.; the pharmacy on the Champs-Élysées at number 84 is open around the clock.

    Safety and etiquette

    • Dress codes are enforced at Full Metal, SecteurX (by night), Le Keller, L'Impact and E2O. Check the programme for the night, because a themed evening can shut the door on you.
    • The vestiaire (cloakroom) is mandatory at every cruise club, reliable, and often 2-3 euros in cash separate from entry. Keep coins. Cards work at the bar.
    • Phones out of sight in the play areas; most clubs ban photos outright and will eject you.
    • In the woods: daylight to dusk, valuables at home, offline map downloaded, nothing beyond a meeting. Robbery of men in cruising areas is a documented pattern across French cities and Vincennes is not immune. If something happens, SOS Homophobie (listed on our Paris organizations page) and the police will take the report seriously; homophobic motive is an aggravating factor in French law.
    • Consent runs Paris-style: a hand is an invitation, a step back is a no, and nobody argues with a no. Backrooms are quieter than in Berlin; talking is for the bar.
    • Chemsex is present on the Paris scene and the clubs are strict about visible intoxication. Le 190 and Checkpoint both run chemsex support if you want it.

Closed, so you do not waste the métro ticket

Le Dépôt (10 rue aux Ours), for two decades the one address where the club night and the cruise maze shared a building, closed during the pandemic and has not reopened; every listing we checked in 2025-2026 marks it closed, and the building has no sign of activity. Le Next, the two-floor cruise club at 87 rue Saint-Honoré, is also marked closed on the current listings; Morning Deviance, the party that used it, now runs at Workshow on rue Saint-Martin. Mec Zone (27 rue Turgot, 9th) shows as closed on listings updated in 2025. Older closures, Le Trou de la Sécu, Till Ouest, the Glove (now Le Mensch), the QG (now Krash), Banque Club and Le Transfert, still turn up in 2019-era guidebooks. The Jardin des Tuileries riverside terrace was a cruising ground for three centuries; the 2024 Olympics perimeter broke the habit and we have no reliable 2025-2026 report that it has returned, so we do not list it.

Nearby alternatives

Within Paris the alternatives are the saunas above and the bars page. Beyond the city, the French scene is thin until Lyon (two hours by TGV, with a proper cruise-club and sauna scene), Brussels (80 minutes by Thalys, with several cruise bars and the Macho sauna) and Amsterdam (three and a half hours). For a weekend built around the clubs rather than the city, Berlin remains the only European destination that out-cruises Paris. If you are staying in the Marais, our gay-friendly Paris hotels page lists the addresses within walking distance of rue des Blancs-Manteaux; Hôtel Duo and Hôtel de la Bretonnerie are the classic choices on the right streets.

Keep this page honest

We only publish what we can verify from two current sources, and cruising venues change hours, themes and owners faster than any other kind of business. If you find shutters down, a new name on the door, a changed dress code or a price that does not match what you read here, use the report link on the venue's own page (every venue page has one) and we will check within the week and update. Reopened venues get their pages restored. The Gay Paris guide carries the full picture: all the bars, hotels, this month's events and the Luxury Gay Paris edit.

Frequently asked questions

Is cruising legal in Paris?

Licensed cruise clubs, naturist bars and saunas are fully legal and operate openly. Public sex is an offence (exhibition sexuelle), so the Bois de Vincennes and Bois de Boulogne run on discretion: deep sections, dusk, nothing in view of passers-by. Both forests have regular police patrols aimed mainly at prostitution networks.

What is the best gay cruise club in Paris?

L'Impact (18 rue Greneta) is the strictly-naked institution and the best first door, Full Metal and SecteurX hold the fetish corridor on rue des Blancs-Manteaux, Krash runs the dirtiest weekends for free, Le Keller is the historic BDSM house near Bastille, and REDZONE is the central underwear club by the Louvre.

Is Le Dépôt in Paris still open?

No. Le Dépôt at 10 rue aux Ours closed during the pandemic and has not reopened as of November 2026. Guides that still list it are out of date.

Bois de Vincennes or Bois de Boulogne?

Vincennes for gay cruising: the Allée Royale and the woods around Lac Daumesnil are the classic territory, reached from metro line 1. Boulogne is more active but shares its paths with sex work and heavier policing. Daylight to dusk, valuables at home, in both.

What is the best gay sauna in Paris?

Sun City for the party and the late weekend hours, IDM for value and the labyrinth, Les Bains d'Odessa for a proper bathhouse afternoon. Under-26 discounts are nearly universal but require real photo ID.

When is the best time to visit gay Paris for cruising?

Any week: the indoor scene does not have a season. For a bigger crowd, Pride at the end of June, Bear Pride in May or the TIP sports weekend at Pentecost. For the woods, warm weekend afternoons from May to September.
