Über dieses Event
OutFest Philadelphia ist das jährliche LGBTQ+-Filmfestival der Stadt, jeden Oktober in Spielstätten quer durch Center City und das Gayborhood. Als eines der am längsten bestehenden queeren Filmfestivals an der Ostküste vereint OutFest Spielfilme, Dokumentationen und Kurzfilme queerer Filmemacher aus den USA und international — von im Festivalkreis erworbenen Mainstream-Titeln bis zu experimentellen und communitybasierten Arbeiten, die in der Stadt sonst keine Plattform fänden. Das Festival ist programmgetrieben — die Auswahl spiegelt echte kuratorische Intelligenz statt kommerzielle Logik — und umfasst neben den Vorführungen Podiumsdiskussionen, Filmemacher-Q&As und Community-Events. OutFest steht in der Tradition queerer Filmfestivals als Community-Building: Das Publikum einer Vorstellung ist genauso Teil der Sache wie der Film selbst, und die zufälligen Begegnungen und Verbindungen, die eine Woche gemeinsamer Kinoerfahrung ermöglicht, sind fest in den Sinn des Festivals eingeschrieben. Gespielt wird im Philadelphia Film Centre und in Partnerlocations im Gayborhood; Festivalpässe und Einzeltickets sind online erhältlich.
