About This Event

Tbilisi Pride is Georgia's principal LGBTQ+ rights demonstration and cultural festival, held annually in June in the Georgian capital. It is one of the most politically significant Pride events in the former Soviet space ? a demonstration of queer visibility in a country where LGBTQ+ people have no legal recognition and face documented risks of violence, organised by an advocacy community that has proved its resilience under sustained pressure.

The 2026 edition is expected to take place across a week in June, centring on a main march through central Tbilisi that will proceed under the protection of Georgian police and national security services. The march has been the target of organised counter-mobilisation by ultra-nationalist groups and Georgian Orthodox Church-aligned organisations in previous years, and security arrangements are coordinated extensively by the Tbilisi Pride organisation with law enforcement in advance of the event.

The week's programme extends beyond the march itself: cultural events, film screenings, panel discussions on LGBTQ+ rights and Georgian civil society, community health events, and evening gatherings at the venues affiliated with the underground scene ? Bassiani, Khidi, Caf? Gallery, and Fabrika ? collectively create a festival week that is, within its specific Georgian context, remarkable. The international contingent attending Tbilisi Pride has grown year by year as the event's global profile has risen; visitors from Germany, France, the UK, the United States, Israel, and other countries regularly attend.

IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE FOR ATTENDEES: Tbilisi Pride takes place in a security environment unlike most western European Pride events. Counter-protesters have in previous years attempted to physically disrupt the march; organised violence against LGBTQ+ people has been documented in the vicinity of Pride events in Georgia. All attendees are strongly advised to: follow the security guidance issued by the Tbilisi Pride organisation; stay within the protected march route; travel in groups; maintain communication with other attendees; avoid solo travel to and from Pride events; and register with the Tbilisi Pride organisation or a relevant embassy if travelling from outside Georgia. The Tbilisi Pride website and social media channels will issue detailed security guidance in the weeks before the event.

For visitors planning to attend, accommodation should be booked several months in advance. The boutique hotels and guesthouses of the Sololaki and old city districts fill quickly during Pride week. Connecting with the Tbilisi Pride community via their official channels in advance of travel is strongly recommended.
