About this place Calumet Ethnic Lounge Bar

Calumet Ethnic Lounge Bar is a gay-friendly venue situated adjacent to the Human Rights Center in Yerevan — a location that speaks to its character as a space where a more progressive, internationally minded crowd gravitates. The lounge is known within the LGBTQ+ community for its accepting atmosphere and comfortable environment for same-sex couples. The international music programme adds to the inclusive, cosmopolitan feel. Calumet provides an alternative to the underground queer bar format: a relaxed lounge where LGBTQ+ visitors can spend an evening without anxiety, in surroundings that are welcoming without being exclusively queer-identified. As with all venues in Yerevan's LGBTQ+ landscape, verifying current status through community channels before visiting is advisable.

Avoid this place if you are a tourist or alone. After I read bad reviews, I went there alone. A racist security was there telling me " couples only" I knew that. Then he told me to go to Beatles instead. When I passed this bar later again, two men went in together!!! The security did not say anything. Now I have witnessed that a gay couple went in, and a security didn't stop them. No problem coz they (two men) were a couple. Stay away from this place. *Armenia is very behind in the world. People should know and need to update. Tourists get surprised how beautiful Yerevan is but how behind people here are at the same time. Not 70's it's 21 century now.

Disrespectful behavior by a security guard, including discrimination based on nationality
