About this place Hotel Schani Wien

Hotel Schani Wien is a design-oriented hotel in the 3rd district — just east of the centre and accessible from both the gay neighbourhood and the tourist core. The hotel is consistently recommended for LGBTQ+ visitors: the staff are welcoming without making an issue of it, the property presents itself as open and progressive, and the quality of the rooms justifies the price point. The design aesthetic is contemporary Austrian — clean lines, quality materials, and the restrained sensibility that distinguishes Viennese design from the more ostentatious approaches of other central European hotels. Breakfasts are good and the bar is a reasonable option for an early evening drink before heading into the 6th district. The U3 Erdberg and U4 Stadtpark stations provide quick connections across the city. Schani Wien represents the modern, non-specifically-gay hotel that serves gay travellers well: comfortable, welcoming, and in the right part of the city.

We spent the Pentecost weekend at the Schani hotel in Vienna. I recommend this hotel, which is very well located just 3 minutes from the main train station and 15 minutes from the airport. The room was very clean, and the staff was very accommodating. The breakfast was very hearty, and in addition, the hotel was very quiet despite the crowds during our visit dates. We will return

Great location, very friendly staff, nicely furnished, very good breakfast, fine drinks. Everything worked for us from A to Z.

The rooms are modern, but very plain. There is no reasonable chair, no kettle, no glasses; the only table is tiny. The panini I bought downstairs at the cafe was already three days old (I unfortunately only realized this after the purchase). Cleanliness and proximity to the train station are good. But be careful, the train station is huge, and you are practically on the wrong side. You have to walk at least 10 minutes to the subway. The tram is right outside the door.

Great hotel close to the train station and with a very friendly staff. Don’t miss the breakfast: it is delicious! The bar has a nice menu too and you can sit with a drink late into the night in the cozy chairs.

Absolutely the best location close to Hauptbahnhof and safe. Close to metro and tram as well. Excellent breakfast - a bit pricey for 24 Eur but worth it, incl shots of DIY celery and ginger and carrot juice, cold and hot food. Loved the cosmetics. I think they order from the famous La Bottega - feels amazing and smells verbena. Stayed here for a few times alredy, and will come back. Of you book directly on site you will get a deal - 20% off your first order at the bar and a free scooter.

A design and boutique hotel with the pulse of the times and with classic Viennese blandness celebrates itself as a zeitgeist retreat of cozy elegance and is charming to all guests. My wife Krystyna and I are guests here many times, rarely to stay overnight because we live in Vienna but always at events, for breakfast or to meet friends. As host of Global Family, the “Travel Agency of Humanity”, the Komarek-Hehle family of owners and the director Michelle and team deserve the rating ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️Superior ✌️🍀!!️

Great hotel in a great location just behind the main train station. A tram leaves right in front of the hotel from time to time to Opera Square. Perfect starting point!

Amazing hotel! Everything was super efficient, clean, modern and bright. The location was excellent - so near to the big train station. My room was beautiful and was a lovely environment to come back to after long days of exploring the city. I loved the sustainability aspect of my stay and honestly can’t fault anything at all. This was my first solo trip and as a young female I felt 100% safe and comfortable here. I would recommend to anyone!

Great location close to main railway station and D line to and from city right outside. Rooms are very good value and beds are very comfortable. Very good value for room rate but breakfast at 23 euro is expensive - get the tram into down and go to one of the city centre cafes.
