About this place Hotel Kolping Vienna

Hotel Kolping on the Gumpendorfer Straße in the 6th district offers the combination that gay visitors to Vienna want most: a comfortable, well-maintained hotel in the heart of the gay neighbourhood, within walking distance of the Naschmarkt bars, Café Savoy, and the surrounding venues. The hotel is gay-friendly in the genuine sense — staff are accustomed to LGBTQ+ guests and the property has been consistently recommended in the gay travel community for years. The rooms are well-appointed for the price point: 4-star quality without the luxury-hotel tariff that the 1st district hotels command. The U4 Kettenbrückengasse station is a short walk away, connecting to the airport via the S-Bahn and to the city centre in minutes. For visitors whose priority is being embedded in the gay neighbourhood rather than being closest to the Stephansdom, Hotel Kolping represents a strong combination of location, quality, and value.

The hotel is very well located, and the rooms are clean. Unfortunately, our stay was affected by several issues. The room temperature was extremely high (29–30°C). The small fan provided was not enough to keep the room comfortable. There was no air conditioning, no mini fridge, and no option to buy cold drinks at the hotel. We could hardly sleep because of the heat. In addition, the noise in the morning was terrible and made it impossible to rest. It's a real shame because, with better temperature control and sound insulation, this hotel could offer a much better experience.

Overall a great stay at this hotel located in the 6th district, near main attractions like Karlsplatz, the Neubau and Mariahilfer Strasse, and Hofburg/Museumsquartier - all within walking distance. Conveniently close to U4 and U3 too. The hotel room itself was very basic, but it had everything you need. TV, closet, hand soap and shampoo, towels... only negative is the absence of A/C, which made sleeping at night a bit difficult. I had a broken fan which was replaced immediately. It did its work, but thankfully it was cool enough at night to open the windows. The breakfast was delicious, with a small variety of cold cuts, cheeses, fruit and bread. Overall I am satisfied with my stay at the Kolping Hotel.

The hotel was satisfying in every way; the breakfast was quite sufficient and varied, the staff were superb, they even put my baby's crib in the room before we checked in and gave us a toy as a gift. My daughter lost the toy and they gave her a new one, a very nice gesture. I will definitely choose this hotel again if I come back 💕

Clean, nice hotel, I can recommend it for a visit in Vienna. A little furtkę from the inner city but still a walking distance and nice area of the city.
