About this place Hotpot

Hotpot is listed as a gay bar and club on Petrinjska ulica in central Zagreb, a few minutes' walk east of Ban Jelačić Square. It is one of a small number of dedicated gay nightlife spots in the city, and reviews are mixed (around 3.6 on Google). We have no confirmed opening hours, and venues like this in Zagreb often open only on Friday and Saturday nights, so check its social media for the current schedule before going. Zagreb's gay scene is small and low-key; the city is generally safe for LGBTQ visitors in the centre, though public displays of affection still draw looks in places.

Four French friends wanted to go out in Zagreb for the evening. We'd read a lot of scary reviews about other places, so we decided to try this one. A gay club with 2010s music, which was fine. Beware of men who touch and grab you... I wouldn't recommend it for non-smokers, and even as a smoker, I found it difficult. Your eyes sting and your clothes stink—it's awful, you have to wash them right away. The waitress was amazing!!
