About the event

Proudly part of the Tallinn Fringe Festival. www.fringe.ee Performer: Greta & Tanel Ruben Quartet Genre: Jazz Duration: 20:00-22:00, 2 sets Age suitability: all Ticket: 15/ 20/ 25/ 30 € Two generations, one shared musical language — meeting on stage for the very first time. The Greta & Tanel Ruben Quartet brings together father and daughter — drummer Tanel Ruben and jazz violinist Greta Ruben — for a debut performance years in the making. It is a project long carried in thought, finally becoming reality. The concert weaves together original compositions from both artists, bridging generations and musical worlds. Expect to hear both Tanel's and Greta's music reimagined in a new light. Tanel Ruben is one of Estonia's most respected jazz drummers, composers, and educators. A driving force in Estonian jazz for over three decades, he has recorded more than 60 albums and written over a hundred compositions for a range of ensembles. Alongside an active performing career, he is a founding faculty member of the jazz department at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, where he has taught since 2000. Over his long career he has collaborated with internationally acclaimed musicians including David Liebman, Avishai Cohen, Anders Jormin, Brian Melvin, Jaak Sooäär, and Raimonds Pauls. Greta Ruben is a young jazz violinist, singer, and composer whose music moves between jazz, pop, and classical. Her sound is tender, gentle, and dreamlike.
