Nallikari Seaside (Cruising Area)

Nallikari is Oulu's main seaside recreation area, a long sandy beach and dune stretch on the Bothnian Bay a few kilometres from the centre. Alongside its family beach and holiday village, the quieter wooded and dune sections have a long-standing reputation as an informal gay cruising and meeting spot, most active on warm summer evenings. Finland is one of the most LGBTQ-friendly countries in the world and there is no legal risk to being here, but this is a public family beach: be discreet, respect other visitors, and keep any activity out of sight. As with any outdoor meeting area, tell someone where you are and trust your instincts. Reports point to evenings (around and after sunset in the light summer nights) as the busiest times.
