Oulu Pride
About This Event
Oulu Pride is a week of LGBTQ events in Finland's northern city of Oulu. It was first held in 2010 under the name North Pride and is run by the volunteer association Oulu Pride ry. It has grown quickly: police estimated about 2,300 marchers in 2024 and 5,000 to 6,000 in 2025, Kaleva reported.
The week runs in early August. Smaller events build up to Saturday, when the march leaves Kuusisaari, loops through the city centre and returns to the island for a free park festival.
The 2026 week ran from 3 to 9 August, with the march on 8 August. The theme was Queer Culture, and the week was part of the official Oulu2026 European Capital of Culture programme. The 2027 dates hadn't been announced when we checked.
